Jo was commissioned by Theatre in the Quarter to produce a play on the current refugee crisis. Called 'The Lost Boy' , this family theatre show enjoyed a two week run in Chester and was critically acclaimed, receiving two 4 star industry reviews from The Stage and Reviews Hub. It was also short-listed for a national theatre award.
Jo is currently producing with Theatre in the Quarter on a new project called 'Walk My Journey' (in collaboration with the national City of Sanctuary charity). The project involves a documentary and live street performance with over 700 primary school children and 6 refugees.
Jo is also working on the research and development stages of a new play with playwright Stephanie Dale. 'Brutal' is a stage of the nation play that highlights the stories of people living in some of Birmingham's high rise tower blocks.
